A peppermint flavoured buttercream and cream cheese frosting to compliment it. Works well with chocolate cake – I used it for North Pole Cupcakes.

Ingredients
Peppermint Cream Cheese Frosting
- 125g (4 oz) cream cheese
- 115g (1c) butter
- 1 tsp peppermint extract
- 190g (1½c) icing sugar
Peppermint Buttercream
- 115g (1c) unsalted butter
- 1tbsp milk
- 1 tsp peppermint extract
- 190g (1½c)icing sugar
Directions
Peppermint Cream Cheese Frosting
- Beat the cream cheese, butter and peppermint extract until creamy.
- Slowly add the icing sugar and beat until smooth. Add more icing sugar/peppermint to taste.
Peppermint Buttercream
- Beat the butter until smooth, then add the milk and peppermint extract.
- Slowly add the icing sugar and beat until fluffy.
- Optional: I mixed in some Candy cane sprinkles before filling the cupcakes.
