Pear and Ginger Jam

Strong ginger compliments the pears well in the recipe. Makes about 6x 8fl oz jars.

Serves: 6 x 8 oz jars
  • 450g pears
  • 450g sugar
  • 55g ginger
  • Juice of 2 lemons
  • 285ml water
  1. Chop the fruit and add to the pan with the sugar, lemon juice and water.
  2. Boil for 20-25 mins until set point is reached and mixture is jammy.
  3. Mash with a potato masher while in the pan to remove big chunks.
  4. Ladle into jars, wipe the rims and seal.
