XP Setup Screens
I thought it would be nice if I modded some of the screens that are displayed during XP setup because the default microsoft ones look crap. The main screen is stored in winntbbu.dll in \i386 of your XP CD. I used the winntbbu.dll from the 2003 CD because the bitmaps are transparent which is good if you do a logo for the top corner and the background needs to blend in. You’ll need resource hacker to open the file.
The logo in the top left is bitmap #102, the main background is #103. I deleted #185 – #192, they’re the pips that flash in the lower right.
The Dialog Box in the screenshot is stored in winnt32.dll. There are a few resources in the file that I've altered to make the box look like this, search around and you’ll find them. The final screen that I made looks like this:
