I’ve been loving some Toasted Nut Brulee Ooolong tea from Teavana recently. These chocolate cupcakes are inspired by this wonderful tea (please send more!) They have a custard filling, peanut butter frosting and a sprinkling of chopped nuts and are perfect with a cup of Oolong. Chocolate and peanut butter are something you have to be told about and would probably not think of pairing together, but like chocolate and chilli, they work really well together. I know a few people who love peanut butter so these didn’t last long.
Did I say Snickers? I mean Snackers… similar to, but legally distinctive from a Snickers bar (sue me Mars). This ultimate replication chocolate bar as a shortbread base, layer of peanut-speckled marshmallow on top, caramel on top of that, then chocolate, peanut butter and more peanuts. It may sounds like a lot, but each layer is very thin, so the whole lot is no thicker than a regular chocolate bar.
Pranzer, dancer… erm… rudolph? Names aside, these chocolate chip and peanut cookies have chocolate pretzels for ears and are guaranteed to cause arguments about who get’s the M&M nose.
Last year these chocolate cupcakes were filled with marshmallow, but this year I made peanut butter frosting and peanut M&Ms. This recipe makes 13 cupcakes, which leaves one for testing before you dish them out.
With my new found obsession with pies on sticks, I wanted to try a peanut butter and banana version which would be just enough for one serving. These pie pops use an all butter whole what crust. I glazed half with chocolate and Dr Oetker banoffee sprinkles, and the other half with a honey glaze and chopped peanuts.
I’ve tried a few brownie recipes, but this is by far the best ever. In previous attempts, the top has always risen too much and broken off during baking or ended up crunchy, but these came out soft and light.
A crunchy granola without big chunks of oats. Good for sprinkling in yogurt for extra crunch.
Everything good about a PBJ sandwich.. in a granola. The bonus of this is that you end up of peanut M&Ms which are the “wrong” colour, which inevitably need to be eaten.
Crunchy peanut butter and maple syrup make this a great snack and also stay crunchy with milk for breakfast.
Big clusters and half peanuts make this good for snacking on and keep it crunchy with milk.
